Do I need a dimmer? Dimmers make all the difference to the ambience of a room. Instead of old-fashioned on/off lighting, you can match the level of light to the mood or activity. How about cuddling up on the sofa to watch a movie, you want that cinema-style effect at the touch of a button. And we all know that nothing lights up a romantic moment like soft, subtle lighting. Sometimes you need good light carefully directed to the task in hand whether you’re cooking up a stir-fry or writing your presentation. Your lighting can match your own flexibility.
You know the mood you want. The next question is, how do you create it?
Step 1 - Choose the style that best matches or complements the dècor of the room.
Step 2 - Choose the dimmer designed to control the kind of lights you have in the room, for example, incandescent (normal light bulbs) or low voltage (they have a transformer running them).
Step 3 - Calculate the total load. Incandescent light bulbs have wattage ratings marked on the bulb. Add up the wattage of all the bulbs in the fixture or circuit and select a dimmer that is rated above or equal to your total wattage.
Step 4 - Decide how many dimmers/switches control the same light fitting and choose from these options.
If there is only one switch, use a single-pole dimmer. If there is more than one switch, use a 2-way dimmer. If there is Multi-location dimming use one intelligent dimmer and up to nine accessory dimmers.
Are they difficult to install? No - You can replace a switch with a dimmer, just use the existing two wires on your old switch to make the new connection.
Rako RAVIR Interface
|
|
IR to RF Interface. Use Any Learning Remote To Operate Rako Modules.
The elegance of any Rako system is demonstrated not only by its simplicity of operation, but also by the number of control options available. The RAVIR is one such option, allowing the use of any standard learning remote control to operate your Rako lights as well!
The RAVIR will convert standard Infra Red commands into RAKO RF commands. This can be achieved either through a dedicated IR receiver or as part of an IR control system, such as those designed by SpeakerCraft.

Rako RMT-PILL Dimmer
|
|
RMT-PILL
250w trailing edge wallbox dimmer. With neutral connection – controls halogen and mains dimming LEDs, no minimum load. Without neutral connection – controls mains voltage halogen only with 60w minimum load.
FLEXIBLE CONTROL
Designed to a fit in a standard UK or European back-box the RMTPill,
whether used with or without a neutral, has full RF receiving
capability and the same programmability as other Rako dimmers. The
“Pill” dimmer is useful for installations where fitting a standard Rako
dimmer is difficult e.g. retro-fitting to control wall-lights.
The RMT-PILL can be controlled from any Rako transmitter such as
RCM wallpanels, RAH hand held, timeclocks and forms an integral
part of a Rako scene-set system. The RMT-PILL dimmer can also be
controlled from a simple momentary action switch giving ON/OFF
control allowing cost effective extra panels. Control from simple
panels still allows the dimmer to be used as part of an overall home
control system with Master Off and macro command response.

Rako RCP07 7-Button Controller
|
|
7-Button Wall Controller. Operates All Rako Dimming Modules. Referring to the RCP07 as a ‘light switch’ can be likened to dismissing a computer as a calculator
Rako’s RCP07 is the main keypad controller for all Rako dimming and relay modules. Each RCP07 is capable of controlling lights in one room, and through ‘room-grouping’ via RASOFT software, several rooms or your entire house.
When ‘room-grouping’ is not required, the RCP07 can also be used to precisely configure the scene settings of each room.
