Audio Design Associates or 'ADA' or even 'Audio Design' was founded by Albert G. Langella and Peter T. McKean in 1977. The company was born from a TV/radio/repair-shop that Peter took over in the late 1960's called Hartsdale Radio & TV located in Westchester County, NY, a suburb north of Manhattan. Albert, who displayed natural talent at an early age when it came to electronics, worked for Peter repairing stuff while in high school and later as he studied for his Bachelors in Engineering at the Pratt Institute of Technology. By the mid-1970's, one of Peter's customer's was looking for a distributed audio system for his new home. Peter turned to Albert to build a custom system for this first client. Over the next few years, several more such customers came along forcing Langella to reconsider the "one-off" system designs he had provided to date. Coinciding with Albert's graduation from college, he and Peter incorporated ADA in 1977.
ada PF-2502 Flag Ship 2-Channel Power Amp
The PF-2502 utilizes the same amplification modules as used ADA's heralded MPA-502 in conjunction with a power supply to support two channels. Both amplification modules and power supply reside in a single chassis. The PF-2502 can be added to an MPA-502 for seven channels of home theater power amplification. Alternately, the PF-2502 can also be used for sound reinforcement in a multi-room system or more basic two-channel audiophile stereo system.

ada MPA-502 Flag Ship 5-Channel Power Amp
The MPA-502 is an incredible five-channel power amplifier with an impressive heritage. Introduced as the MPA-500 in 1992, it became the power amplifier that was utilized to assist in writing THX's original amplifier specification. Based on an audiophile configuration, where a mammoth power supply resides in its own chassis (MPS-502) independent of the chassis housing the five amplifier modules, the MPA-502 is the most powerful multi-channel power amplifier in the world. In fact, when operating on a standard 115V AC outlet, you cannot even force the amplifier into clipping because to do so requires 28 amperes of wall current. The MPA-502 incorporates a 2500 Watt custom torroidal power supply in combination with 500,000µF of capacitance. This huge power reservoir ensures that the MPA-502 has plenty of punch for even the most dramatic scenes. Suffice it to say, that the MPA-502 is as good as it gets. For systems requiring back surround speakers (7.1), ADA provides the exact same amplifier modules in a two-channel version, the PF-2502.

Ada XLRX-8 8-Channel Unbalanced to Balanced Converter
In today's world of custom multi-room audio installations, long cable runs can degrade audio signals to unacceptable levels. Similarly, in professional environments, impedance matching is required when connecting unbalanced and balanced components together. The XLRX-8 converts unbalanced RCA inputs to balanced XLR outputs. Using a completely transformerless design in the audio signal path, the XLRX-8's efficient circuit design provides super low distortion impedance matching performance.

ada PTM-8150 8 Channel - 4 Zone Luxury Power Amplifier
The PTM-8150 entered ADA's line-up along with the latest in home theater advancements that included among other features, extended surround - the use of an additional speaker or speaker pair for back-surround. The PTM-8150, much like the PTM-6150 is an all MOSFET design implementing four double-stacked output transistors per channel (8 output devices per channel). The PTM-8150 will flawlessly drive the most demanding home theater speakers with its all-current power drive. In a 7.1 speaker system, the eighth channel can be used to drive passive subwoofers. For those looking for special sound in a multi-room system, the PTM-8150 can also be used to provide superior sound to four independent zones.

Ada Suite 7.1 HD Home Theatre Preamp
The Suite 7.1 HD is ADA's brand new home theater controller/preamplifier featuring 8 HDMI inputs in addition to four analog audio and 8 digital audio inputs (6 coaxial & 2 optical). You can connect up to twenty components to the amazingly small (only 1 rack-unit tall) Suite 7.1 HD. But don't let its size fool you. The Suite 7.1 HD is the most sophisticated ADA home theater preamplifier to date, incorporating the latest Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Audio Master and Multi-Channel PCM decoding capabilities. These lossless uncompressed formats on high-definition Blu-ray DVDs sound amazing when listened to on the Suite 7.1 HD. Just as HD video is noticeably better than regular DVD, high-resolution audio is dramatically better than regular 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. You really can hear the difference and will never want to watch or listen to regular DVDs ever again. From film to TV series to concerts, everything looks and most important, sounds better on Blu-ray and the Suite 7.1 HD. Naturally, the Suite 7.1 HD also features decoding of the standard Dolby, DTS and THX formats as well as several proprietary modes for music and TV. From a technical standpoint, the Suite 7.1 HD features HDMI equalization per input and output to compensate for HDMI cable type and length. It also features a multi-band parametric equalizer per channel as well as other features only available from ADA. If high-definition is how you want to experience theater in your home, then an ADA home theater system is the very best choice you can make.
