Michell Engineering are a small family-held enterprise situated in north London, where they have been active in audio for almost 40 years now. In the early sixties founder John Michell created J.A.Michell Engineering as a precision engineering company doing work for the nearby film industry, motorcar and aircraft builders and, indeed, audio component manufacturers. Whilst having been involved in turntable design before, Michell Engineering were officially launched into hi-fi when they took over the manufacture of the Hydraulic Reference model (seen in A Clockwork Orange) from their then-neighbouring company, Transcriptors. The Hydraulic Reference record player was followed by similar other models and tonearms like the Prisma and Focus One, to be superseded in 1981 by the GyroDec, a groundbreaking floating-chassis turntable with balanced armboards and a stabilised suspension.

Michell VTA Arm Adjuster 3
|
|
VTA Adjuster 3
The Michell VTA adjuster 3 allows you to easily adjust the height of your tonearm, so it is perfectly level no matter what cartridge you choose to use. Correctly setting the vertical tracking angle (VTA) and subsequently the stylus rake angle (SRA) for your cartridge, allows the stylus of your cartridge to perfectly track the vinyl groove, optimising the amount of detail extracted from the recording.

Michell Cartridge Tags (set of 4)
|
|
These are the ultimate cartridge tags and they come as standard on Michell's Techno Arm ‘A’. Silver-platted for superior conductivity, their cartridge tags are milled from solid brass and offer a unique spring-loaded connection for improved pin contact. Four colour-coded heat-shrink sleeves are included.

Michell TecnoArm 2
REFERENCE CLASS TONEARM
The TecnoArm 2 is designed to offer a truly audiophile listening experience at exceptional value for money and easily competes with tonearms at three times the price!
Utilising a custom one piece arm tube, the tube is shot -blasted to make it more rigid and then 22 holes are drilled in the underside to reduce mass. The underside of the integral head shell is machined to be perfectly parallel with the bearing position. The tonearm is then assembled using the new ultra-low friction polymer bearings and mounted on a redesigned mounting base.

Michell Arm Plate de-coupling Kit

|
Michell Arm Plate de-coupling kit
A simple yet very effectiveupgrade, our de-coupling kit can be installed on all Gyro and Orbe turntable varients. Designed to mechanically de-couple the tonearm and mounting plate from the rest of the turntable, its installation prevents ambient noise from transfering from the turntable to the tonearm/cartridge.
The kit comes with the strap (please specify Rega or SME fixing), three new spacer assemblies, locknut and cable tie.

Michell New Rega 3-Point VTA Adjuster
|
|
New Rega 3-Point VTA Adjuster
The Rega 3-point fixing VTA (Vertical Tracking Angle) Arm Adjuster has been designed for the range of Rega arms (RB-251 and RB301) that use the recently introduced 3-point fixing. Once installed, the user can adjust the vertical tracking angle in minute increments without losing the rigid 3-point mounting so important to proper sound reproduction.
The VTA adjustor, at its minimum setting, raises the tone arm by 2mm, which is the same as the thinnest setting on the moulded adjuster available from Rega. It comes packed with two different thickness adjuster rings (the thinner ring is designed to lift the tonearm base 0 to 2mm and the thicker ring will lift the base 2 to 4 mm) and all of the fixings necessary as well as a nylon nib to help rotate the base notches if access is tight.
