A subwoofer or a sub is a loudspeaker dedicated to reproducing low-frequency audio or bass. The typical frequency range for a subwoofer is about 20 to 200 Hz and below 80 Hz in THX-approved systems. Subwoofers are often used to augment the low frequency range of loudspeakers covering higher frequency bands only, such as satellite loudspeakers. With satellite loudspeakers becomming more popular and their physical size ever decreasing subwoofers play an important role in giving home cinema systems their full range sound. Passive subwoofers have a subwoofer driver and enclosure and they are powered by an external amplifier. Active subwoofers are more common and include a built-in amplifier.

SOLID 100% PERFECT-SURFACE SILVER (PSS) CONDUCTORS: Perfect-Surface Technology applied to extreme-purity silver provides unprecedented clarity and dynamic contrast. Solid conductors prevent strand interaction, a major source of cable distortion. Extremely high-purity Perfect-Surface Silver minimizes distortion caused by the grain boundaries which exist within any metal conductor, nearly eliminating harshness and greatly increasing clarity compared to OFHC, OCC, 8N and other coppers.

audioquest Wolf Subwoofer Cable

Wolf
The wolf is the largest member of the family Canidae, which includes all large-breed dogs, foxes, and coyotes. Wolves are known for extreme intelligence, a trait that enables them to survive in the wild. Wolves are also famous for their evocative and powerful howl, which they use to communicate with other wolves. While wolves are commonly thought of as aggressive and “vicious,” they are generally averse to actual fighting and are, in fact, often quite friendly with other dogs or humans they come into contact with. Since wolves are capable of forming strong emotional attachments, it’s no wonder that humans feel an affinity for these complex and beautiful animals.

Husky
This strikingly beautiful breed has a delightful temperament combined with keen intelligence and equally acute independence of spirit. While Huskies are rarely the best choice for watchdog functions (because of their overwhelming instinct to run at any and every opportunity), Huskies have an ability to learn that has been described as “staggering.” The Husky’s natural instincts have evolved from its historical origins as sled dogs for nomadic Siberian tribes to become loving and playful family dogs. DNA analysis has found that the Husky is one of the world’s oldest dog breeds.

audioquest Boxer Subwoofer Cable

Boxer
The Boxer breed originated in Germany in the late 19th century and was brought to the US after World War I. Today, Boxers are a part of the AKC’s Working Dog Group. Don’t be fooled by that “worried” look on a Boxer’s face. Boxers are known for their fun-loving, genial, and at times downright clown-like demeanor, as well as their remarkable rapport with children. However, Boxers are equally known for courage in the face of danger, or threat to family or loved ones. The Boxer’s innate intelligence, combined with its natural strength of stature, makes it a breed beloved by many.

Irish Red
The Irish Setter is a distant ancestor of the Spanish Pointer and is actually a mix of the English Setter, the Gordon Setter and the Irish Water Spaniel. Irish Setters are known for their friendly, fun-loving and outgoing temperament. These dogs have a natural love of exploring and enjoy a good game of fetch above all. This trait undoubtedly traces back to the Irish Setter’s breeding to be useful to hunters on foot. Irish Setters’ intelligence and naturally calm and friendly demeanor make them superbly suitable as therapy or support dogs.

audioquest Greyhound Subwoofer Cable
|
|
Greyhound
Though its combination of long legs, deep chest, flexible spine, and slender build make it an excellent hunting and racing breed, capable of reaching speeds in excess of 64 kilometers per hour (40 MPH), the gentle, intelligent greyhound would just as well spend its day simply and quietly enjoying long naps in the soft shade. Greyhounds rarely bark, are very patient, show great devotion and affection toward their families, and exhibit a surprisingly friendly attitude toward people and other dogs. But don’t be misled by their distinctly slim conformation: Greyhounds are in fact exceedingly healthy, powerful animals, and they make loyal, loving companions for people young and old.
