Clearaudio Concept V2 MM Cartridge

The Clearaudio Concept v2 Moving Magnet cartridge is the second generation MM version providing increased clarity and dynamics. Clearaudio’s first patents and products in the 1970s were MC cartridges. They applied their expertise in phono transducer design to create a line of MM cartridges to complement their turntables and tonearms.
Developed for the Concept turntable, it uses many of the advancements found in the v2 Ebony generator. The Concept v2 MM is a high-output moving magnet cartridge featuring an aluminum body and cantilever with an elliptical stylus. Due to the unique “frictionless magnetic bearing” design of the Concept tonearm, it is available factory pre-installed on the Concept turntable at a special package price.

Clearaudio's line of tangential tonearms began with the original Souther tangential arm of the 1980s. Clearaudio were so impressed with the design that they purchased Souther and began making the original TQ-I tangential tonearm. Since then, Clearaudio's patented Clearaudio tangential tracking tonearm designs have added many improvements along the way.

The main chassis consists of a complex sandwich of materials: aluminium - panzerholzbullet-proof wood - aluminium, to minimise resonance. Within the chassis, Clearaudio have introduced an elaborate resonance damping measure: a series of internal 'mats' of varying sizes, each containing up to 1,000 tiny stainless steel balls.
