The company was founded in 1961 by Raymond Cooke OBE (1925–1995) and was initially headquartered in a Nissen Hut on the premises of Kent Engineering & Foundry (from where the name KEF is derived) – a metal-working company on the banks of the River Medway, near Maidstone in Kent. Cooke, an ex-BBC Electrical Engineer, was keen to experiment with new materials and technologies in order to create products with superior acoustic quality that could reproduce recordings as natural as the original performance. From the very beginning, the pioneering inventiveness of KEF loudspeakers was undeniable and now for several decades, audiophiles around the world have revered KEF for its innovative, high-performance loudspeakers.

KEF Blade
When KEF gave their engineers free rein to create a fitting showcase for their technology leadership, they developed a revolutionary prototype that looked and performed like no other: Concept Blade, the world's first single apparent source loudspeaker. Its phenomenal sonic capabilities met with such praise that KEF decided to produce an edition that serious audiophiles could actually own. After two years of painstaking refinement - and in time to mark 50 years of KEF innovation - Blade is the result.

KEF T101 Satellite Speaker
KEF’s revolutionary T101 is in a different league from any low profile speaker you’ve ever heard.
As one of the world’s thinnest high performance home theatre systems, the new T Series combines several landmark innovations: a radical new ultra-low profile bass and midrange driver, and a large, fully vented new tweeter. By incorporating both in cabinets only 35mm (just over 1.25in.) deep, the T Series brings you all the pleasures of true audiophile quality sound in a speaker that perfectly complements the aesthetics of the latest flat screen TVs. The T101 creates an exceptional soundstage while highlighting the subtle nuances in your music or movie collection undoubtedly adding to your listening experience!

KEF T301 Satellite Speakers
KEF T301 speakers are designed to perfectly compliment any flatscreen television, being less than an inch and a half deep, yet sound as impressive as a traditional deeper loudspeaker design. Despite their slim profile, these speakers deliver all the intricacy, spaciousness, wide soundstaging and dynamic range of a conventional high end design.
How do these speakers sound so good when they're so slim? Well, the bass/midrange section of the speaker uses a twin layer flat diaphragm instead of a traditional speaker cone. KEF have also reduced the thickness of the magnets and moved the suspension out of the magnets. These design features result in sleek, slender speakers that can be wall or stand mounted, yet sound so impressive that most who experience them for the first time can't believe they sound so stunning!

KEF Q750 Floorstanding Loudspeakers
Q750 Floorstanding Speaker
Q750 is the intermediate model for the Q Series floorstanders. Featuring the KEF signature Uni-Q driver array paired with an impressive 165mm (6.5 inch) aluminium bass driver and two matching ABRs, the Q750 delivers astonishing sonic reproduction.
At the heart of the evolved Q Series is the Uni-Q driver array. The signature innovation places the tweeter in the acoustic centre of the midrange and bass cone, bringing the acoustic ideal of a single point source closer than ever to realisation. The result is a more detailed, accurate three-dimensional sound image, which is dispersed more evenly throughout the room than is possible with any conventional speaker. Uni-Q's ultra-wide dispersion is further enhanced through KEF's 'tangerine' waveguide over the tweeter dome.
