Michell Engineering are a small family-held enterprise situated in north London, where they have been active in audio for almost 40 years now. In the early sixties founder John Michell created J.A.Michell Engineering as a precision engineering company doing work for the nearby film industry, motorcar and aircraft builders and, indeed, audio component manufacturers. Whilst having been involved in turntable design before, Michell Engineering were officially launched into hi-fi when they took over the manufacture of the Hydraulic Reference model (seen in A Clockwork Orange) from their then-neighbouring company, Transcriptors. The Hydraulic Reference record player was followed by similar other models and tonearms like the Prisma and Focus One, to be superseded in 1981 by the GyroDec, a groundbreaking floating-chassis turntable with balanced armboards and a stabilised suspension.

Michell Tecnoweight Rega Arm Upgrade
Set of two counterweights, metal endstub, and precise 0.1g Vertical Tracking Force adjuster for Rega RB-250 and RB-300 tonearms and their derivatives. One counterweight matches cartridges of 3 to 6g mass, the other is for cartridges of 7 to 13g. The center of mass is at the stylus level, thereby increasing tracking and reducing record wear.
FEATURES Precision machined counterweight system Design ensures counterweight

MICHELL GOLD PLATED BANANA PLUGS - SET OF 4
The quality of the connector is usually underestimated. But we know from experience how much sonic difference there is between a tight connection and a pair of surfaces that are just touching.
One major advantage of these gorgeously-machined gold-plated connectors (made in England by J.A. Michell is that they can be fastened with no tools.
Unlike the imitations, these connectors stay tight even if you move the wire. They are plated with rhodium rather than gold. Like gold, rhodium won’t tarnish, but it is far harder and less prone to wear.

Michell Record Clamp
Black-delrin light-weight record clamp, as used on the GyroDec. A superbly engineered, easy to use clamp that really makes a difference.
This device clamps the record to the platter. This flattens out the warps, and it also couples the LP tightly to the platter so that internal resonances can be drained away from the stylus, as if the LP effectively is of a much higher thickness and rigidity. A felt washer raises the LP at its center: under action of the clamp the record's playable area is then very tightly pressed down onto the flat platter, right to its edges.

Michell Finger Locking Nut
The Michell ‘Lock Nut’ replaces the standard odd sized hexicon nut that is suppled on Rega arms. The advantages of this is that you do not have to rumage around in you tools looking for the correct sized spanner and it eliminates over titening issues that result in arm misalignment. Suitable for RB250, 300 and 600 arms and will work on all turntables.

Michell Tenderfeet - Small
MICHELL TENDERFEET SMALL - (EACH) Solid anodized aluminum cones designed to fit underneath various audio components. They provide a high impedance mechanical interface between the surface on which the equipment rests and the equipment itself. This prevents ambient vibration from affecting the performance of loudspeakers, turntables, compact disc players and electronics. With loudspeakers this ambient vibration can be the delayed self-generated standing wave present in the floor or bookshelf that the loudspeaker rests on. With turntables and electronics this vibration is largely loudspeaker generated.

Michell Speaker Terminals
MICHELL GOLD PLATED SPEAKER TERMINALS - SET OF 4
Replaces existing low quality terminals on most speakers. 3/4" long threaded shaft fits panels up to 1/2 " thick. Needs 13/64" hole. Integral solder lug. Accepts up to 7.5 gauge wire, banana plugs, pins or spade lugs. Color coded. Set of 4.
