Naim XPS DR Power Supply
|
|
The importance of power supplies has been close to the heart of Naim philosophy for over twenty years.
Naim research proved that divorcing the main power supply from a CD player is wholly beneficial, whereas the more common arrangement of housing the converter circuitry in a separate box causes many problems.
The Naim XPS power supply is a very sophisticated power supply with six separately regulated, very low noise outputs, featuring a toroidal transformer and six power regulators. These supplies are branched and re-regulated, some twice in the CD player.

Naim NAPSC power supply
|
|
The NAPSC comes as standard with the NAC 282 pre-amplifier and can be bought as an upgrade for the NAC 202.
The NAPSC then supplies all the digital circuitry used for the pre-amplifier switching.
The NAPSC can also be used to power the Headline headphone amplifier.

Naim Fraim Support System - Base
|

The Fraim equipment support system has been carefully designed to provide the perfect platform for Naim electronics to shine. Each level is carefully isolated from the next using a cup-and-cone interface. An additional, double-layer base platform provides further isolation from resonance. A toughened glass sub-shelf rests on minimal-contact ball decouplers, providing even more isolation.
From the stainless steel spikes, which complete the process of isolation, to the zinc-plated steel nuts and studs that tie everything together, each individual component of the Fraim has been selected for its effect on sound quality. You’d expect nothing less from Naim.

Naim SUPERNAIT 2 Reference Integrated Amplifier

The Naim SUPERNAIT 2 combines a muscular 80 Watts per channel power amplifier with six analogue inputs. In terms of both performance and hardware, it is conceptually as close as it is possible to get to separate pre and power amps in one box. It borrows advanced technology from Naim’s flagship preamplifiers, the NAC 552, and in employing the latest Naim DR (Discrete Regulator) techniques in its power supply, sits right at the forefront of Naim amplifier technology. Naim Hi-Line Interconnect
|
|
During the development of the CD555, a special project ran in parallel; to develop a new signal cable which would exceed the performance of Naim’s standard cable.
The brief was to investigate all parameters of a signal carrier: to improve the whole rather than just improving the cable as is the more normal development practice.
Given the opportunity to start with a ‘clean sheet’ the R&D team decided to develop a much improved plug as well as a new cable.
