Typically the stud bay or ceiling construction is all that is necessary to mount the speakers and provide the proper acoustic platform. However sometimes the installation may require specific enclosures to assure proper air volume behind the speaker or to limit sound transference into an adjoining room. Sometimes a state or local ordinance may require a metal enclosure in certain buildings.
