Unison Research was founded in 1987 by a group of passionate audiophiles led by Giovanni Maria Sacchetti. Born in 1945, Giovanni Maria Sacchetti devoted himself at an early age to the study and design of hi-fi systems, combining his interest in electronics with a passion for music inherited from his father, an expert pianist.
After completing his studies in electronics, he devoted twenty-five years to teaching while at the same time designing and developing amplifiers for Unison Research.

Unison Research are expanding on their class-leading range of valve-based hi-fi electronics to produce their first ever dedicated headphone amplifier solution. The SH is a single-ended, two-stage full-valve headphone amplifier designed to accommodate traditional analogue and modern computer-based audio sources.
The SH began with the same basic remit as the coveted Simply Italy integrated amplifier; to produce a world-class sound from a specialised device using the best technology available. The result was a fairly simple, linear circuit that produces an output voltage which is more than capable of driving a wide range of headphones, while keeping distortion low throughout the frequency range. This allows the SH to deliver a consistent, coherent sound character when in use.

Preludio is an integrated tube amplifier that maintains the distinctive technical elements, sound characteristics and stunning looks that Unison Research is known for. It bears an obvious resemblance to the higher-end Sinfonia and Performance amplifiers, but maintains a very appealing price for a product of such prestige.
Using double triode ECC82 valves the Preludio’s pre and power amplification gives an exclusively valve amp performance that delivers a natural and dynamic presentation.

The Phono One was originally released many years ago and enjoyed much admiration and acclaim during its life-span. After it was discontinued it's popularity did not cease, so when the vinyl hi-fi market began to experience a resurgence, Unison Research decided to re-introduce their iconic phono stage with new and improved specifications.
The new Phono One is aesthetically similar to the original, and while it shares some similarities in circuitry with the Simply Phono it earns its place as Unison Research's flagship phono stage in part because of the 10 triodes it uses (5 x ECC83 (12AX7) valves).
