Stirling AB-2 Bass Extenders
NEW!! Stirling AB-2 Bass Extenders for Stirling V2 and all LS3/5a's
All prices are per matched PAIR of loudspeakers, double boxed in export packaging.
What is the difference between the old Rogers AB1 and the latest Stirling AB-2 ?
Stirling designed their new AB-2 for a broader, less peaky frequency response (AB-1 produced a "one-note thud" centred at 70Hz), with the Stirling AB-2 you can hear progression through the bass register.
The AB-2 cabinet is taller by 48mm. Stirling made it taller so that the inner chambers and port length/diameter would be optimised for the high quality SB-4424 drive units.
Stirling have used the latest rubberised damping pads (as used in the V2), these are far better that the brittle bituminous material used in the old AB1.
A more stable plinth has been designed, with heavy duty threaded inserts and high grade spikes.
High quality gold plated upper & lower connectors (Rogers AB-1 used nickel plated connectors).
Upgraded link lead system (to link the AB-2 to the V2's or other brand of LS3/5a's), with gold plated connectors.
The AB-2 is balanced to work at it's best with Stirling V2, but it also produces great results when used with any classic LS3/5a's from 1974 - 1997.
We sell the AB-2 with a 5 year warranty on the drive units and crossovers.
