Reference Stereo Amplifier
Avid's approach to design is simple: Design the best and then cascade it down.
This is strikingly obvious with their Reference Stereo Power Amplifier, a perfect partner to the Reference Pre-Amplifier in less demanding situations.
Employing the same stunning casework as the Reference Mono Amplifier, their Stereo Amplifier sacrifices very little.
Even using the same circuit board and layout they are assured of great reliability even under strenuous applications.
Whilst this is an unbalanced design the inputs allow for RCA and XLR, so balanced cables can be used from the pre-amplifier.
A typical economy is usually made in the power supply, but Avid have done exactly the opposite using a 2.3KVA mains transformer.
There’s no shortage of power when required and with 272,000uF of storage capacity, even the largest crescendos are no problem.
Using the same heatsink capacity as the bigger Mono, this amplifier always remain cool, even under difficult conditions.
In common with the Reference Mono, the power delivery is very wide bandwidth, so low frequencies are faithfully reproduced.
Voices have a startling reality and space around them, pulling you into the musical experience.
Whilst there’s immense power there is also control and a delicacy that allows the inner detail to be fully revealed.
Naturally all the metalwork and circuit boards are produced and hand assembled within our own factory based in Huntingdon.
Like all our other products, all aspects are checked and a minimum fourteen days continuous testing carried out.
Built to the same exacting standards as all our products, our Reference Stereo Amplifier is just that, a new Reference.
