The LP12 Top Plate is at the beating heart of an LP12 – it is connected directly to the plinth and to the motor and, via the suspension, to the sub chassis, armboard and tonearm.

Linn's current top plate is fractionally thinner now than in the early days. The suspension bolts are better. The threaded holes for the speed adjustment screws have evolved to M3, and an extra stud has been added to the top-plate in the motor corner to help eliminate any vibrational energy in that area of the top-plate which is critical to the performance of the turntable.

If you have a modern LP12 plinth with corner bracing then we would recommend the Top Plate with Stud as this travels through the wooden corner brace closest to the motor for additional support. Alternatively if you have an older plinth without corner bracing then opt for the 'without stud' version.
