These sturdy metal enclosures meet or exceed 1 hour fire ratings for use in multi-unit dwellings and whenever speakers are mounted in firewalls; they will contain fire, gas, smoke and heat within the enclosure for up to one hour. Not only do they allow residential contractors to meet building codes but they also diminish the transfer of sound through the walls from one room to another.
