External A/V Sync Delay Correction. Dual Inputs And Presets Modern displays, such as Plasma screens, LCD screens and projectors use sophisticated processors to produce high quality images. The processing can however introduce a delay between the picture being displayed and the sound being heard. This is known as lip-sync error. Certain amplifiers have basic corrective circuitry built-in, but Primare has discovered that an AV Processor / Amplifier benefits significantly from being fed an already corrected signal. Primare’s Delay Box is an advanced digital lip-syncing device that feeds a corrected signal directly to the amplifier, relieving the processor of the power and memory drain associated with integral delay correction. The Delay Box is also an effective upgrade for systems lacking this facility. With Satellite broadcasts and DVD discs potentially suffering lip-sync errors, the Delay Box provides independent optical and coaxial inputs for both sources. A corrective range of 0 – 600ms and two independent presets per input ensure prefect synchronisation between sound and picture. Given that many DVD players are also used as a CD player, the Delay Box recognises a 44.1 kHz signal and automatically routes an unaltered signal directly to the amplifier. This digital bypass can also be selected via the included remote control. With full RS232 control and a discrete IR input, Primare’s Delay Box can be seamlessly integrated with any Home Theatre system.
