Yellow Submarine TurntableArtist Series
In April 1968, the unique and very special Beatles movie Yellow Submarine launched in cinemas. Now recognised as a high-point in the iconic band's illustrious history, to mark its 50th anniversary Apple Corps Ltd and Universal Music Group are reintroducing the movie, restored in 4k digital resolution, and airing it in cinemas across the USA.
After successfully working with The Beatles for a series of turntables previously, Pro-Ject Audio Systems are working with the band again to introduce their fifth - and most striking - Beatles record player.
The Yellow Submarine turntable is a distinctive design, with a totally unique shape to match the Yellow Submarine itself. The addition of a glass platter ensures the whole turntable remains on view when not in use, and also adds a lively sonic character to the hi-fi quality sound.
The supplied cartridge is a new Concorde design from cartridge pioneers Ortofon. Called Sonar, when the cartridge is mounted on the S-shaped aluminium tonearm the sound performance is engaging and enjoyable. Special decoupling feet make sure that the turntable is safely standing on its ground without worrying about vibrations.
