Each BAS subwoofer can be connected directly in-line with the corresponding in-ceiling pair. This is made possible by the inclusion of an in-built crossover, which directs the lower frequencies to the BAS unit and passes the higher frequencies to the smaller ‘satellite’ pair.
By selecting one of two frequency settings, you can control the amount of bass information sent to the BAS unit. If you have small speakers you would set the switch to a higher setting. This will allow your small speakers to sound better with less distortion. If your speakers are larger, you would set the switch to a lower frequency, allowing these speakers to reproduce mid bass, while the BAS unit reproduces the lowest frequency information, providing a noticeably tighter and deeper bass response.
Irrespective of how you configure the BAS speaker system, you always enjoy less distortion, higher SPL levels and a wider dynamic range.
The BAS augmentation system simply makes any system sound better.
